Eagle River Nature Center
The Eagle River Nature Center is part of the Chugach State Park. It has interpretive exhibits and trails and viewing decks along the Eagle River.
Several hiking trails overlook the Eagle River.
The valley hosts both black and brown bears as well as moose and beavers.
But the only wildlife we saw here was this fearless meadow vole, Microtus pennsylvanicus. This little creature, also called a field mouse or meadow mouse, is active year-round.
